Jones & Jones - "Two Caring Dentists"
To Our Patients,
We would like to address the two major concerns that many of our patients have:
About the high cost of dentistry...
Americans in the US benefit the most from advanced technology in dentistry more than any population in the world. The best dental material and state of the art dentistry come with a high price tag. Fortunately, dental health cost can be kept at the minimum with simple daily good brushing and eating habits. Two visits a year to your dentist for regular check-up and cleaning (less than $200) cost less than a year of seeing your hair dresser and much less than a year of cigarettes (one pack a day averages $1460/year)
Dental diseases are the only diseases that affect people in every race, age, social economic class in all corners of the globe. But dental diseases can be prevented, this is the reason why we cannot say enough about prevention. Preventive dentistry is inexpensive and you enjoy your dental health for life, neglect is quite costly and you end up wearing plastic teeth. Many patients have fillings and crowns that are 20, 30 and plus years; can you imagine the cost of your car or shoes if they were to last a lifetime?
When you choose us as your family dentist, we hope that you would appreciate the fact that you are the only patient the doctors see at the time and perform all dental services. Almost all dental offices in the US book 4 to 8 patients in an hour for one dentist, double booking is unheard of, not to mention one patient for one appointment. Most dentists jump from room to room while their dental assistants perform many auxiliary dental tasks. Our practice of husband and wife dentists with combined 50 years of experience believe in seeing one patient at the time, and we will continue to provide each and everyone of you with the utmost care during your appointment. Our fees are comparable to other equally trained dentists in East Tennessee, but since we only see few patients in a day, our patients can rest assure of the quality care they received. We use only the best dental material on the market, made by highly reputable and respected companies with a long history of excellent medical and dental products. We also use highly skilled dental laboratories and we scrutinized every prosthodontic piece (crowns, bridges, partial and full dentures, all appliances) under a microscope in our own lab before we fit them permanently on our patients' dentition. We hope you understand the importance of keeping your confirmed dental appointments and being on time.
About the coverage of your dental insurance...
Our fees reflect the difficulty of the procedure; they remain the same regardless of dental insurance, they have nothing to do with dental insurance. While we charge the same fee for our services, our patients have different dental coverage. In the entire history of dental insurance, there is none that will pay 100% for all dental procedures. Insurance companies are for-profit businesses. Their profit is to collect the premium payment from companies who bought the dental plans without having to pay out this sum. Insurance companies are not here to care for your dental needs and are not willing to pay out more than they get in.
Regardless of dental coverage, you are responsible for your account. We expect payment at time of service. As an extended service to our patients who have dental coverage, we help you file with your insurance at extra cost to us in resource and time. Sometimes dental insurance companies do not send payment until months later. We asked that you help us keeping the cost of dentistry down by extending the same courtesy in return and take care of your balance accordingly.
Those of you who have dental coverage, count your blessings; many of our patients have none.
People care for what they value and dentistry is very affordable if you care for your teeth. Thanks for your trust and goodwill.
